Two-piece video installation
Description:
The installation consists of two objects, juxtaposed in space: a video object – cathode TV screen fixed on stand, playing a video loop, and of modified swivel chair with electromotor.
In the video a woman is rotating on a static chair, clockwise and backwards, progressively changing her speed. Her movements are artificial and lifeless rough because they are produced out of several time lapse photographs. The original music is combined with the sound of rewinding.
The installation questions the feasibility and modes of woman’s mobility and progress in time –space reality (both spiritual and material), whereby the space and time are inhibiting factors.
