Kristina Horvat Blažinović is an artist and researcher working across various forms and media, including painting, multimedia installations, performance art, audio-visual sculptural objects, animation, and video. She also designs and crafts puppets for theatre and has directed several music videos. She has exhibited her work since 1993 in solo exhibitions as well as numerous group exhibitions in Croatia and internationally. She has a degree in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and a postgraduate degree in video from the same institution. In 2020, she completed her practice-based PhD at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb with a dissertation titled ‘The Real and The Symbolic in the Poetics of Multiple Screens and Images’. Apart from her artistic career, she is a full professor and the Head of the Art Department at the Faculty of Teacher Education, University of Zagreb. She is a member of the Croatian Association of Artists.
